"You choose this place and time for your own reasons and your own challenges... and so this planet is not peopled with strangers, but those who are already psychically united, who then come to this planet in your time. Your world is far more extensive than you realize, and your concepts have limited your experience. So, here, we knock the old concepts down. You knock them down as you encounter your own living psyche." -Seth during class in late 1974, Sue Watkins, Volume 2 page 474
"The
inner ego always identifies with its source-identity as a beloved, individualized
portion of the universe. It is aware of the universal love that is its heritage.
It is also aware of the infinite power and strength that composes the very
fabric of its being. Through being made aware of these facts, the exterior
ego can begin to feel a quicker sense of support and nourishment. The knowledge
can let it relax, let go, so that it feels its life couched and safe, and
knows itself to be indeed a beloved child of the universe, both ancient and
young at once, with an identity far beyond the annals of time. It is of great
value, then, that each person remember this universal affiliation. Such a
reminder can often allow the inner self to send needed messages of strength
and love through the various levels, appearing as inspiration, dreams, or
simply pure bursts of feeling. The inner ego draws instant and continuous
support from the universal consciousness, and the more the exterior ego keeps
that fact in mind, the greater its own sense of stability, safety, and self-esteem."

Health
"That knower is instantly aware of all your needs, and is the portion of the universe that is personally disposed in your direction, because its energies form your own person. That protection always couches your existence. It means that you live "in a state of grace." You can be unaware of that state. You can deny it or refuse it, but you are within it regardless. It forms the very fabric of your individual beings. Value fulfillment means that each individual, each entity, of whatever nature, spontaneously, automatically seeks those conditions that are suited to its own fulfillment, and to the fulfillment of others."
"In the most basic of terms, no one's fulfillment can be achieved at the expense of another's. Fulfillment does not happen that way. Your very lives seek the best directions for fulfillment. Our work seeks its own best directions for fulfillment."
"When you
realize this, then you can accept seeming setbacks, or seeming contradictions,
with a calm detached air, realizing that such factors appear as they do only
in the light of you present intellectual knowledge - a knowledge that must be
limited to current events - and that in the larger picture known to you at other
levels, such seeming contradictions, or seemingly unfortunate situations, or
whatever, will be seen to be to your advantage. You do not have all the facts,
you see, at that intellectual level, so if you base all of your judgments -
all of your judgments - at that level alone, then you can be quite short-sighted."
-Seth,
Dreams Evolution and Value Fulfillment, Volume 2
"Only as
I serve to remind you of your own greater reality do I serve you, and do you
learn from me, And only, as through this performance with Rubert (Jane Roberts),
as you recognize the abilities of your own individualities, do you learn when
you come here. You do not have to speak for others, or work fine psychic feats
to know yourselves, to follow your consciousness in the waking state and dream
states, to walk joyfully and triumphantly through the corridors in times and
spaces of your own being."
-Seth Class Session, June 1974 Sue Watkins, Volume 2, Page 545
"There is no such
thing as a chance encounter. No death occurs by chance, nor any birth. In the
creative atmosphere of Framework 2, intents are known. In a manner of speaking,
no act is private."
-Session 815, p.76, The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events
"You have an entire civilization and world set up about those beliefs I have just given you--that the universe is not safe...that you must defend yourselves from enemies that come from without, and, worse of all , from enemies that are within. As long as you believe that you dwell in a universe that is a threat, you must defend yourself against it....The official line of consciousness forms a world about it and you perceive and experience that world...while you devote yourself to that official line of consciousness the world will always appear the same - evil, disastrous, bound only for destruction...You need not say "The universe is safe" for at your present level, that will only enrage you. You say instead, "I Live in a Safe Universe, " and so you shall. And those defenses that you set up against threats will crumble, for they will not be needed...The most I can do is to acquaint you with the authority of your own psyche - to give you a trust in the nature of your being. For, if you trust what you are, you can never go wrong in whatever terms you use. You can fly through belief systems as a butterfly flies through back yards.
Excerpts from The Safe Universe Tape"You must live in the
faith that your purpose is and will be fulfilled, is being fulfilled. You must
live in the faith you have such a purpose and meaning, or you would not be here."

"You can "come awake" from your normal waking state, and that is the natural next step for consciousness to follow -- one for which your biology has already equipped you." -Seth, session 830, "Mass Events"
"As in your terms the cavemen ventured out into the daylight of the earth, so there is a time for man to venture out into a greater knowledge of his subjective reality, to explore the dimensions of selfhood and go beyond the small areas of himself in which he has thus far found shelter."
Seth, The "Unknown" Reality, Volume One, Session 684"When man realizes that he, himself, creates his personal and universal environment in concrete terms, then he can begin to create a private and universal environment much superior to the (present) one, that is a result of haphazard and unenlightened constructions. This is our main message to the world, and this is the next line in man's conceptual development. . ."
Seth, The "Unknown" Reality, Volume Two, EpilogueYou are in physical existence to learn and understand that your energy, translated into feelings, thoughts and emotions, causes all experience. There are no exceptions.
Seth, The Nature of Personal Reality, Session 614"You make your own reality. When I say that, you interpret it to mean that you make your own reality. You think that that you is the only you that concerns you. You think that you is your consciousness. You still hold that idea in conventional terms, now, of your own identity, so that you identify with what seems to be a whole consciousness that makes its reality.
"But each portion of your consciousness, your identity, is --using an analogy-- composed of an infinite number of glittering points of consciousness that come together to form your identity. And you hold them and grip them tightly and call them your own. Now your identity is your own. It will not dissolve under any circumstances. Yet you can have a much more adventurous kind of identity if you hold yourselves in less rigorous a grip.
"If you can, for example, sometimes in playful moments, imagine those separate, glowing points of consciousness like fireflies, glittering on and off and lighting strange worlds. If you close your eyes and imagine such a point and follow it in your imagination, where does it go? You will not lose yourself, you will discover a portion of yourself that you did not realize existed. You will begin to reclaim an ancient and yet new knowledge.
"In your terms, you will begin to learn that delicious alchemy that connects the so-called animals and the so-called gods.
"For this exercise -- for this play, for this game, for this delightful endeavor -- you must make a dangerous compromise, for you must pretend momentarily to forget your name. For you were before your name existed, and you will be when you have forgotten what your name was. Your name, accept for now, is not important. You will be yourself whether or not you have it.
"In this multidimensional drama, what you do is this: you imagine the consciousness that you have as an endless glowing sequence of pointed lights, emerging, swarming, coming and going. Always each point of consciousness is coming and going. No matter where it is, it knows that it is a part of you. So you need not fear that you will lose yourself.
"Each point journeys. Each point mixes and intermixes with the consciousness of animals, plants, worlds that you do not recognize. And if you want to know what these realities are about and your part in them, then follow where those points of light lead you. You will not be left in the darkness...
"You create your own reality -- here. What other realities do you help create? What other realities are you a part of? When I tell you to explore the dream state, you explore it with your own identity like a soldier going to battle: 'Ah ha! What have we here tonight, what adversary?' But when you dream at certain levels of awareness, your consciousness, now, separates into all of its parts and explores the physical universe and other worlds.
"You are not dispersed, in your terms. You do not break apart. The morning comes, and gloriously, there you are, girded for another day in which to survive. Yet when you sleep and dream and forget the Bible, only then do you understand the nature of the creativity that allows you to survive. Only then do you realize that, by not worrying about it, the magic happens. By taking it for granted that you know, then you know."

Trusting
Ourselves in the Midst of Turmoil
The Nature of Personal Reality
Page 210. Any creative idea is aggressive. Violence is not aggressive. It is
instead a passive surrender to emotion which is not understood our evaluated,
only feared, and at the same time sought.
Violence is
basically an overwhelming surrender, and in all violence there is a great degree
of suicidal emotion, the antithesis of creativity. Both children and victims
of war, for instance, are caught up in the same kind of passion, but the passion
is not aggressive. It is its opposite - the desire for destruction.
Know that yearning is
made of feelings of despair caused by the sense of powerlessness, not of power.
Aggressiveness leads to action, to creativity and to life. It does not lead
to destruction, violence or annihilation.
Page 212. You can appreciate spirituality unless you appreciate your creature
hood. It is not a matter of rising above your nature, but of evolving from the
full understanding of it. There is a difference.
We will not attain spirituality and or even a happy life by denying the wisdom
and experience of the flesh.
Page 216. Feelings are emotional reactions to beliefs.
Page 218. Aggression in the most basic terms has nothing to do with physical
violence as you think of it, but with force through which love is perpetuated
and creatively renewed.
When you think in other terms, then you fall into distorted views in which power
is assigned to negative elements - and seen as threatening, wrong, or even given
demonic connotations. In contrast, good is seen as weak, powerless, passive,
and in great need of defense.
Page 220. Your systems and we will of course attract certain kind thoughts,
with their trails emotional experience. A steady barrage of hateful, revengeful
thoughts should actually lead you to look for the beliefs from which they are
gaining their strength. You can not do this by ignoring the validity of your
thoughts or your experience, however, by trying to shed then under the rug of
a superficial optimism. Such habitual, unhappy thoughts will bring about the
same kind of experience, but it is your own system of beliefs that you must
examine.
The "negative" subjective and objective events that you meet are meant
to make you examine the contents of your own conscious mind. In their way the
hateful or revengeful thoughts are natural therapeutic devices, for if you follow
them, accepting them with their own validity as feelings, they will automatically
lead you beyond themselves; they will change into other feelings, carrying you
from hatred into what may seem to be the quick sands of fear - which are always
behind hatred.
By going along with feelings you unify your emotional, mental, and bodily state.
When you try to fight or deny them, you divorce yourself from the reality of
your being. Dealing with thoughts and feelings as just directed at least roots
you firmly in the integrity of your present experience, and allows its innate
motion and natural creativity to thrust toward a therapeutic solution.
When you refute such emotions or become terrified of them, you impede the flow
of feeling from one moment to the other. You set up dams. Any emotion will change
into another if you experience it honestly. Otherwise you clog the natural movement
of your entire system. Fear, faced and felt with its bodily sensations and the
thoughts that go along with it, will automatically bring about its own state
of resolution. The conscious system of beliefs behind the impediment will be
illuminated, and you will realize that you feel a certain way because you believe
an idea that causes and justifies such reaction.
